So, update for War of the Twins. I've been steadily losing interest in War of the Twins, since it's a collaborative setting in which the other major collaborators have been conspicuously absent. Despite their lack of activity, they have made big promises they show no indication of following up on, and honestly, I feel a little burnt about that. So it's tainting my experience somewhat and I don't think I'll follow up with these people after WOTT is out. With that said, War of the Twins is easily the furthest I have gotten into a serious creative project (comic or novel) and I do intend to see it through to the end.
As for current progress, it's easy to continue writing when I start writing, and it's still engrossing and burns up an hour of my time like few other things can, but I'm finding myself dragging my feet every morning before I resume working on WoTT. This is because I'm currently in the middle of a romance/world-building chapter, and well... I've never been a fan of romantic anything. But it will likely reap dividends. Just not now. There are also lots of very memorable action scenes in the future I am impatient for. I've contemplated skipping forward to more exciting and dramatic scenes and filling in the less exciting bits later. But that doesn't quite feel right. My initial estimation of the word count was initially in the 50k to 60k range. Now, it is looking like 100k words and change. I'm up to 30k right now. So there's still a lot to go. Probably the reason for this is because I am not a fan of plots that jump ahead to the next big thing while the last one is being processed, so I prefer to extend rather than abbreviate scenes. It's funny because I normally do not take my time in things I do, but here, I feel differently.
